Panini America, the world’s largest licensed sports and entertainment collectibles company, announced today that it has reached agreement with former Oklahoma University quarterback Kyler Murray for trading cards and autographs. Murray’s first officially licensed trading cards and autographs will arrive later this month in Panini America’s 2019 Prizm Draft Picks Football. His first officially licensed NFL trading cards will release in April inside the company’s landmark 2019 Score Football product.
One. Short. Week. Seven days. That’s all that stands in the way now between 2018 Contenders Football and a ravenous collector base ready to rock when the product arrives in hobby shops across North America next Friday. Obviously, when it comes to the landmark Contenders product, the primary drivers of the product every year are the Rookie Ticket Autographs RCs and the relative scarcity of Short Prints, Super Short Prints and variations.
The melding of Panini America’s popular Optichrome printing technology with just about anything over the last few years has proven to be an irresistible collecting combination. Whether its staple Optichrome products like Prizm and Select, or newer additions such as Donruss Optic and Contenders Optic, there’s just something about those products that continues to command attention. That will most certainly be the case in late February with the release of 2018 Contenders Optic Football.
Since it’s already Christmas afternoon, chances are you’ve already unwrapped all of the gifts underneath your tree. But if you’ll please indulge us for just a bit, we have a few packages to unwrap ourselves: Three early boxes of Panini America’s live-tomorrow 2018-19 Contenders Basketball. As you saw in yesterday’s revealing Quality Control Gallery, 2018-19 Contenders Basketball is a potent mix of hard-signed Rookie Ticket Autographs, a loaded lineup of parallels and a few eye-catching inserts. On average, each hobby box (10 cards per pack, 12 packs per box, 12 boxes per case) will deliver two autographs and a vibrant array of inserts and parallels.
Panini America has a post-Christmas, pack-popping proposition in store for hardcore basketball collectors later this week with the Wednesday release of 2018-19 Contenders Basketball, a Rookie Ticket-tinged, parallel-powered powerhouse of a product featuring what promise to be some of the most in-demand Rookie Cards of the season. Taking a page from its more-established football sibling, 2018-19 Contenders Basketball delivers a wealth of hard-signed Rookie Tickets with a complete arsenal of parallels, including Premium Optichrome, Cracked Ice, Playoff and Printing Plate versions.
Yesterday’s lickety-split sellout of 2018 Contenders Football’s “1st Off The Line” edition offered a vivid reminder that the hobby edition of 2018 Contenders Football will arrive soon in hobby shops across North America. Obviously, when it comes to the landmark Contenders product, the primary drivers of the product every year are the Rookie Ticket Autographs RCs and the relative scarcity of Short Prints, Super Short Prints and variations.
